The Camillus Senior Center supports adults in their efforts to remain healthy, active & independent members of the community by providing socially, intellectually, & physically enriching activities for the senior population age 55 & over.  The center also serves the senior community by acting as a resource for senior related issues.

LOCATION:
The center is located in the former school building at 27 First Street in the Village of Camillus.  First Street runs parallel with Main St/West Genesee & is accessed from Leroy St (next to Maxwell Library) or Newport Rd.  The center’s entrance is located on the east side of the building near the large parking lot.  The center is owned by the Town of Camillus.  Other parts of the building are private apartments. 


SENIOR ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
Stretch & Balance classes, Defensive Driver Program, art classes, Senior Power Hour exercise classes, day trips, health & wellness classes, Chair Yoga, Bridge, Mexican Train Dominoes, Pitch, Cardio Drumming, Cornhole, guest speakers, BUNKO, crafts, Mah Jongg, parties, concerts, special events, nutrition education, and much more!


P.E.A.C.E. LUNCH PROGRAM
Hot, delicious meals are served Monday through Friday at 12:00 p.m.  Suggested contribution for Seniors aged 60 and over (or spouse) is $3.50, slightly more for those younger than 60 and guests.  Reservations are required a day in advance and can be made by calling 315-672-5820.

FOOD SENSE
Food Sense. a program of the Food Bank of CNY, is a monthly food buying co-op.  It is an opportunity to purchase food at a discount.  EVERYONE can participate; there are no age or income requirements.  Monthly packages contain 12-15 staple grocery items at a cost of just $20.50.  Monthly specials may also be purchased.  Food Sense is ideal for families, single households, and Senior Citizens.  Contact the Camillus Senior Center at 315-672-5820 for the current newsletter or visit www.camillusrecreation.com.  Online orders may be placed at:  https://foodsense.foodbankcny.org/.


AARP TAX-AIDE PROGRAM
Held at the Camillus Senior Center, tax preparers are available February through April.  To schedule an appointment, call the center at 315-672-5820 beginning in early January.  This free service is available to taxpayers with middle and low income, with special attention to those 60 and older.  AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation's largest volunteer run tax preparation and assistance service and is offered in conjunction with the IRS.  All returns are filed electronically.


TRIPS
The Camillus Senior Center offers a variety of trips.  Each trip has its own registration form that needs to completed and returned along with payment.  If interested in registering for any trip, please stop by the Senior Center Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. to pick up the forms.
